Need help mapping your supply chain for EUDR?

Background

EUDR traceability requirements

The EU Deforestation Regulation establishes a three-step due diligence framework under Article 8: information collection (Article 9), risk assessment (Article 10), and risk mitigation (Article 11). At the core of this framework is the ability to trace commodities from the EU market back to the plot of land where they were produced.

Article 9 requires operators to collect and retain specific information for five years, including product descriptions, quantities, country of production, geolocation coordinates, supplier and recipient details, and evidence that products are deforestation-free and legally produced. Article 10 then requires a risk assessment across 14 criteria, from country risk classification to supply chain complexity.

For commodities like rubber and palm oil, where smallholder farmers supply through multiple aggregation tiers, mapping the full supply chain is one of the most challenging aspects of EUDR compliance. This template provides a structured starting point for documenting the required information at each tier.

To validate your geolocation data, use the EUDR GeoJSON validator. To assess your overall readiness, take the EUDR readiness assessment.

Legal disclaimer: This template is provided for informational purposes to support due diligence planning. It does not constitute legal advice or guarantee regulatory compliance. Requirements may vary by member state, commodity type, and supply chain structure. Consult the official EUDR regulation text (EU 2023/1115 as amended) and seek qualified legal counsel for your specific situation. Template fields are based on the regulation as of May 2026 and may change as implementing guidance evolves.
